ForestEthics and twenty other environmental organizations—with collective membership in the millions all across North America—have described five steps that SFI needs to take to stop misleading the public. Download the letter from major environmental organizations opposed to SFI’s greenwash here.
SFI publicly touts its support from “conservation groups across North America.” However, those that do support SFI are not exactly a who’s who of the environmental movement–many of them have financial ties to SFI that raise serious questions about why they are supporting SFI. In contrast, the 21 North American environmental organizations that have publicly taken a stand against SFI include many very prominent defenders of our planet’s forests, communities, water and wildlife:
